Job Title: Medical Instrument Specialist Job Description:We are seeking an experienced and skilled individual to join our team as a Medical Instrument Specialist. This role involves working in a hospital setting, responsible for the decontamination, inspection, packaging, and sterilization of surgical instrumentation within the CSSD department. Responsibilities:• Cleaning, assembling, and distributing surgical instruments and equipment, ensuring compliance with infection control standards.• Maintaining cleaning tools and equipment in good condition.• Restocking cleaning and sterilization supplies and reporting low stock.• Undertaking cleaning, disinfection, and sterilization of all reusable medical devices within Main Theatre and Day Surgery units.• Participating in ongoing training to enhance understanding of instrument cleaning, handling, disinfection, and sterilization processes.• Practicing good housekeeping to maintain a clean and tidy work area.• Maintaining standards-based practice to provide quality medical devices for clinical use.• Performing daily and weekly tests and cleaning as required.• Keeping accurate and thorough documentation.• Organizing repair servicing via MexOps, tagging out as required.• Communicating effectively with all customers and patients using appropriate channels. Requirements:A Certificate III in Health – Sterilising Practice for Technicians and at least 3 years' experience as an Instrument Technician are essential.The ideal candidate will demonstrate initiative, reliability, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.A sound understanding of infection control principles is necessary to succeed in this role. Benefits:This role offers a dynamic work environment, flexible work options, and discounts on hospital services & private health insurance.A welcoming and supportive culture fosters respect, security, accessibility, and unity through our diverse community. Work Arrangements:The successful candidate will be responsible during evening shifts and must be available across all shifts (07:00 to 22:30).
