Key Role in Mining Industry Transformation

Responsibilities
  • Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to support the mine planning team and other technical disciplines.
  • Apply advanced knowledge of mine engineering principles to guide the development of design surfaces, schedules, and costs for life of mine, tailings, and closure plans following industry best practices.
  • Lead proposal development by outlining work scopes and estimating project schedules and costs.
  • Prepare, review, and authenticate advanced technical documentation and reports to guarantee their technical quality and assurance.
  • Manage all aspects of projects, including overseeing budget, scope, and schedule.
  • Facilitate workshops and conduct risk assessments and analyses with various stakeholders and external project support.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients to foster existing relationships and generate new leads, opportunities, or referrals.
  • Support review of mine planning investigations to assist with tailings and mine projects, including site investigations and monitoring data.
Qualifications
  • Advanced knowledge of mine planning first principles and extensive experience in mine and/or tailings planning.
  • Experience in operational or closure phases within the mining industry.
  • Familiarity with regulatory and legislative frameworks is advantageous.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to lead interdisciplinary project teams.
  • Proficiency in mine planning software in Hexagon MinePlan and/or Deswik.CAD.
  • Critical thinking and leadership skills at both strategic and tactical levels.
  • Professional Engineer qualification or ability to obtain one.
