Job Description:

Melbourne Polytechnic is seeking an experienced Agricultural Teacher to join our team. As an Agricultural Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering theory, practical, and flexible classes in specialist farming subject areas.

Detailed Responsibilities:

  • Organise and deliver classes in areas such as OH&S, farm management, livestock management, machinery operation, sustainability, and whole farm planning.
  • Teach Agricultural studies and practical farm-based activities.
  • Develop and deliver agronomy programs.
  • Liaise with farm staff, industry personnel, and employers.
  • Participate in ongoing curriculum development and assessment.
  • Select and assess intending students.
  • Implement new technologies within the department.
  • Identify resource requirements.
  • Respond to enquiries on courses and training.
  • Ensure vocational competence is maintained for all areas of teaching.

Requirements:

  • A Degree, Diploma, or Certificate relevant to the Agriculture industry.
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40110 or TAE40116) is essential.
  • Demonstrated currency of practice working within the relevant industry.

Payment Information:

  • Casual Teaching Certificate IV qualified: $82.00 per hour.
  • Casual Teaching-Diploma or equivalent (AQF5) teacher training qualified: $85.00 per hour.
  • Casual Teaching-AQF6 teacher training qualified: $88.59 per hour.
