Environmental Impact Assessment and Planning Team

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Technical Director to join our Environmental Impact Assessment and Planning Team in a rewarding Darwin-based role.

About the Role

As a Technical Director, you will be responsible for interpreting, developing, and advising clients on International, National, and State/Territory environmental legislation and policy. You will also undertake environmental impact assessments, construction environmental management, operational phase monitoring, and development of offsets and approvals strategies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpreting and developing environmental legislation and policy
  • Providing advice and direction to clients on relevant regulatory frameworks and project approval pathways
  • Undertaking environmental impact assessments and construction environmental management
  • Developing offsets and approvals strategies
  • Working within multi-disciplinary project teams to manage and deliver projects on time, within budget, and to required quality standards
  • Maintaining relationships with clients and regulatory agencies
  • Leading the delivery of proposals and technical reports for clients
  • Assisting in mentoring and training of junior staff
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in science, Environmental Science, or similar
  • Minimum of 10 years professional experience in environmental impact assessments, with at least 2 years in a similar role at the Senior/Technical Director level
  • Demonstrated track record in the planning, coordination, and delivery of effective environmental assessment, planning, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting
  • Knowledge of NT and Commonwealth regulatory frameworks and policy
  • Excellent technical writing, communication, and project management skills
  • The ability to mentor, grow, and develop junior team members
  • Proven business development, networking, and client relationship management skills
