About the Role

The Department of Rural Health at the University of Melbourne is seeking a highly skilled and experienced leader to fill the position of Department Manager. As a key member of the senior leadership team, you will play a critical role in shaping the department's strategic direction and ensuring the delivery of high-quality education and research programs in a rural context.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic advice and support to the Heads of Department and the Executive team on business-related matters.
  • Lead business development, planning, financial management, and strategic frameworks, ensuring compliance with government reporting requirements.
  • Ensure effective human resource management, including workforce planning, performance management, recruitment strategies, and personnel management.
  • Motivate, coach, and manage professional staff to create an engaged and high-performance team.
