About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Climate Action Specialist to lead our efforts in supporting the community to reduce emissions and act on climate change.

This role involves developing and delivering programs to mobilise the community and rapidly accelerate community climate action.

The successful candidate will have expertise in climate change and sustainability, as well as experience in leading, planning, managing, and evaluating community programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing and delivering community mobilisation and engagement programs
  • Engaging with different segments of the community to investigate, research, and identify their needs, motivators, and barriers to action
  • Delivering ongoing projects and programs and communications
  • Engaging with external delivery partners and stakeholders to support climate emergency action

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Tertiary qualifications in environmental science, sustainability, community development, communications, project management, or other related disciplines
  • Experience in leading, planning, managing, and evaluating community programs
  • Subject matter expertise developed through several years working in sustainability, climate change action, and/or relevant community programs
  • Demonstrated experience in working with and supporting people from diverse backgrounds
  • Experience working with project partners, community organisations, groups, and/or schools
