About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Visual Effects Mastermind to join our team at Industrial Light & Magic. As a key member of our visual effects team, you will be responsible for creating high-quality digital environments and landscapes that integrate seamlessly with plate elements.

Responsibilities
  • Create a range of high-quality digital environments within a tight timeline and with minimal supervision
  • Establish shaders and lighting setups that look convincing and render efficiently
  • Source suitable reference materials for required assets
  • Participate in rounds and attend dailies for your show and engage in creative conversations with show leads and artists from other departments
  • Interpret and respond to client and supervisor feedback with minimal direction from your Lead
  • Mentor more junior Artists and assist them with their shots
  • Contribute to our inclusive, supportive and collaborative culture
  • Help develop and test tools and techniques before they are rolled out to shot artists
  • Be prepared to lead a sequence of shots and create the look that the rest of the team follows
Requirements
  • Degree and 7 years relevant professional experience
  • Proven ability in multiple CG techniques, including modeling, texturing, shading, lighting, look development, matte painting or compositing
  • Excellent communication and team-oriented thinking
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly pick up new software
  • Fluent in some or all of these software packages: Nuke, 3dsMax, Maya, Houdini Solaris and Renderman and/or Vray renderer
  • Good working knowledge of specialist tools and plugins like Photoshop, Speedtree, zBrush, Substance Painter, Gaea etc

Estimated Salary Range:

$120,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
