Strategic Policy Lead

The role of Strategic Policy Lead is to provide expert advice and guidance to the State-wide Leadership team Director on leading the public health system reform. The focus is on delivering outcomes that matter to all Victorians, building a resilient and sustainable public health system with trust and confidence, social determinants of health, intergenerational wellbeing, and value-based health care principles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop high-quality business intelligence, provide authoritative advice, and offer sound policy recommendations to senior management and government based on comprehensive research.
  • Oversee policy and initiatives aligned with government and departmental objectives, working within resource constraints, timeline, and budget parameters.
  • Review and report on high-priority issues, risks, and trends, preparing and presenting comprehensive reports, ministerial briefs, and cabinet submissions on complex issues.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships, facilitating information flow across the department and with key external stakeholders.
  • Stay informed about Commonwealth and State legislative and policy reform directions to influence policy development.
