Australia Wide Engineering Recruitment is seeking a dedicated Senior Structural Engineer to join their team in Adelaide. This role offers a unique opportunity for a structural engineer passionate about steel structure design, especially for switchroom projects.
Position Overview:
- In this role, you will report to the Lead Structural Engineer and work closely with the Switchroom Design, Engineering, and Project Management teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop structural designs specifically for steel switchroom structures, including preparation of engineering calculations and sketches.
- Collaborate with engineering and design teams to improve efficiencies in modular design, materials usage, and construction methods.
- Review, check, and interpret engineering drawings and specifications, ensuring compliance with Australian Standards (AS-NZS_1170 / AS_4100).
- Support the Engineering team with construction and production coordination, as well as review fabrication drawings in line with general arrangements.
- Resolve client feedback by updating designs as needed, and contribute to the creation of rigging arrangement designs.
Estimated Salary: $90,000 - $120,000 per year
Core Requirements:
- Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering
- Experience: 1 to 10 years in building services steel structure design
- Skills: 3D modeling skills (SolidWorks, Tekla Revit), understanding of document control, and familiarity with Australian standards for structural engineering
Key Competencies:
- Strong attention to construction details and results orientation
- Ability to interact cooperatively and communicate professionally
- Experience with drafting standards, material ordering, and subcontractor coordination (desirable)
