Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Cost Control Manager to lead our cost control team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the effective management of project costs, working collaboratively with various teams to ensure integrated project controls, and developing and implementing cost control plans and procedures.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the cost control team to ensure accurate tracking of project costs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of project controls.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive cost control strategies to monitor and manage project expenditures.
  • Maintain and update project budgets in accordance with approved financial regulations.
  • Implement robust change management processes within cost control frameworks.
  • Analyze project data to identify areas for cost savings and recommend corrective actions.
  • Prepare detailed cost reports, forecasts, and financial summaries for stakeholders.
  • Track actual costs against budgeted figures and analyze variances.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and project contract requirements.
  • Develop and implement Earned Value Management (EVM) systems to track project performance.
  • Analyze project data to calculate EVM metrics.
  • Prepare reports based on EVM metrics to provide insights into project progress and performance.

Key Requirements:

  • Australian citizenship and ability to work in Adelaide.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience, with at least 5 years in a Cost Control/Project Controls role.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.
  • Strong knowledge of cost control and project management principles.
  • Proven experience in leading a cost control department within capital programs.
  • Experience working in the infrastructure and Defence sectors.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects across various stages of delivery.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, including coordination and communication.
  • Self-motivated team player with adaptability and strong interpersonal skills.
