Toll Helicopters is a specialized provider of mission-critical helicopter services and training for Government, Defence, and the civil sector. With extensive experience in operations, training, and helicopter maintenance, our staff are highly experienced and well-trained aviation professionals.

The Role

We are seeking a Technical Services Engineer to join our team. This is a permanent position, working Monday to Friday. The preferred location for this role is Brisbane, with an alternative option in Sydney. The successful candidate will work within the airworthiness management team and collaborate with the maintenance engineering team to provide technical intelligence and expert opinion on airframe, engine, and systems architecture across the Toll Aviation aircraft fleet.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical assessment and input to OEMs on Service Bulletins and Technical Bulletins
  • Analyze aeronautical product improvements and provide internal recommendations on fleet enhancement, product obsolescence, and operational benefits
  • Act as liaison between airframe/engine manufacturers and Toll Aviation for engineering queries and requirements, and provide specialist technical support to the engineering team
  • Maintain technical oversight of major repairs and their associated technical data, ensuring that fleet applicable is maintained and controlled
  • Assist with the coordination of aircraft modifications to meet operational requirements and lead technical projects that have a positive impact on reliability and availability
  • Contribute towards scheduled aircraft airworthiness reviews and aircraft quality assurance checks, draft reports, and provide actions on identified occurrences
  • Assist with the investigation of aircraft defects and reporting of major defects to CASA

Requirements

  • Aircraft Engineer Trade Qualification (or equivalent) and CASR Part 66 Licence with B1 and/or B2 with a AW139 and/or B412 type rating
  • Detailed knowledge of CASA regulatory requirements and processes as they pertain to the company Maintenance Control Manual, the relevant aircraft System of Maintenance, and legislative framework for aircraft maintenance activities
  • Solid LAME experience within the aviation industry
  • Regulatory understanding of airworthiness management and maintenance control processes
  • Advanced technical, analytical, and critical thinking skills with proven attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience managing a variety of projects through to completion
  • Problem solver and critical thinker looking to apply innovative solutions to improve operations
  • Ability to translate complex processes into simple written instructions or visual representations
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Analytical thinker with the ability to make sound fact-based decisions
