About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to join our team at Infrastructure People. As a key member of our project delivery team, you will play a fundamental role in the successful delivery of major infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Constructability Reviews: Participate and lead design and constructability reviews for assigned work packages, ensuring that all aspects of the project are thoroughly evaluated and optimized.
  • Vendor Liaison: Liaise with third-party vendors on aspects of the design, procurement, implementation, and construction, providing feedback or requesting information as required.
  • Project Programming: Prepare timelines, monitor, and ensure project programming and related deliverables are within budget and on schedule, making adjustments as necessary to achieve required goals.
  • System Design Documentation: Develop, review, and update systems functional design documentation, including interfaces documents, control specs, and relevant technical information.
  • Testing Documentation: Develop, review, and update testing documentation, including testing specifications, procedures, and test cases, in accordance with the V-Model.
  • Assurance of Traceability: Manage assurance of traceability requirements until project completion, ensuring that all design, development, implementation, installation, testing, commissioning, and completion activities are properly documented and verified.
  • Vendor Coordination: Work with vendors, subcontractors, and constructors to coordinate work, resolve issues, and maximize productivity while delivering quality outcomes.
  • Commissioning: Coordinate and lead commissioning of tunnel equipment and systems, ensuring that all systems are properly installed, tested, and commissioned.
  • Transition Management: Facilitate effective transition from highway and tunnel construction through to operations, ensuring a smooth handover to the operations team.
  • Risk Management: Identify, assess, and control risks to project quality of product, ensuring that all potential risks are properly identified and mitigated.
  • HSE and Quality Management: Ensure active management and compliance with HSE and Quality requirements, ensuring that all project activities are conducted in a safe and controlled manner.
Requirements
  • Pro-active Attitude: Possess a pro-active 'can-do' attitude and ability to solve problems.
  • Communication Skills: Demonstrate great communication skills and ability to interface at all levels of the project organization.
  • Qualifications: Hold a Bachelor's degree in Electrical and/or Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering field.
  • Experience: Possess at least 4 years' experience in an engineering role on a major infrastructure project, with particular focus on Plant Management and Control Systems (PMCS) or Traffic Management and Control Systems (TMCS) for tunnel projects.
  • Management Tools: Have strong knowledge of management tools such as JIRA, DOORS, Completions Connect, GLAAS, etc.
  • Australian Standards: Demonstrate strong knowledge of the Australian Standards and TfNSW Scope of Works and Technical Criteria.
