We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Senior Lecturer to join our team at the University of Newcastle. As a Senior Lecturer, you will play a key role in delivering excellence in teaching, research, and industry engagement in the areas of Tourism and Event Management.
Key Responsibilities- Design and deliver engaging tourism and event management courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
- Conduct high-impact research of national and international standing.
- Co-supervise PhD students.
- Foster industry connections to drive innovative research, work-integrated learning, and graduate employment opportunities.
We are looking for a candidate with a PhD in Tourism/Event Management or a related area, and a proven record in teaching and research at Senior Lecturer level. In addition, we would love to hear from people who have:
- Evidence of designing and developing new curricula in tourism and event management, with an emphasis on work-integrated learning and authentic assessment.
- Evidence of submission of grant applications in the broader area of tourism and event management.
- Evidence of successful engagement with industry stakeholders in the area of tourism and event management to inform research and teaching.
- Experience in teaching management and/or marketing.
The remuneration for this position is from $138,079 - $159, % superannuation. We also offer a range of benefits and extras, including additional leave, flexible working, and discounts.
