We are looking for an experienced Ruby on Rails Developer to design, build, and manage quality code in Ruby. As a Ruby on Rails Developer, your primary responsibility will be to develop full-stack logic and test its performance. You must ensure that the server-side components integrate with the front-end elements seamlessly and give the desired outputs.

Responsibilities

  1. Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable Ruby on Rails code.
  2. Implement user interface components with server-side logic.
  3. Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to these problems.
  4. Help maintain code quality, organization, and automatization.
  5. Contribute to the continuous improvement of the development process.
  6. Collaborate with other team members to resolve issues, and actively engage with the customer support team to promptly address real-world challenges.

Requirements

Back-end Skills

  1. 2+ years of professional experience in Ruby on Rails development.
  2. Proficient in Ruby, Rails, Javascript, and RESTful APIs.
  3. Strong understanding of Ruby syntaxes and its nuances.
  4. Solid understanding of object-oriented programming.
  5. Familiarity with concepts of MVC, Mocking, ORM, and RESTful.
  6. Experience in developing and consuming APIs, both internal and external.
  7. Experience with Postgres and Redis.
  8. Ability to work with complex database schemas and optimize database performance.
  9. Experience in writing comprehensive tests using RSpec, Jasmine, and Cucumber.

Front-end Skills

  1. Familiarity with CoffeeScript and its integration in Rails applications.
  2. Good understanding of server-side templating languages (such as Haml).
  3. Experience with front-end technologies, including JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3.

General Skills

  1. Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and version control tools, preferably Git.
  2. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  3. A knack for writing clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
  4. Understanding of web app security best practices.

Desirable Skills

  1. Knowledge of cloud services and experience in deploying Rails applications.
  2. Familiarity with development aiding tools such as Bower, Bundler, Rake, etc.
  3. iOS development experience is a huge plus.
