Surface Preparation Specialist

We are seeking a skilled professional to join our team as a Surface Preparation Specialist. This role is crucial in ensuring the efficient completion of preparatory work and sandblasting tasks.

About the Role

As a Surface Preparation Specialist, you will be responsible for preparing surfaces using air-powered sandblasting equipment, checking conditions before sandblasting, selecting, setting up, using and maintaining surface blasting equipment safely and effectively, sandblasting to specification and supplier information, checking finished items to ensure suitability for paint and pre-weld, able to follow safety procedures and monitor quality control.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Rheinmetall seeks applicants who possess the necessary skills and qualifications for this role. The ideal candidate should have previous experience in surface preparation roles - sandblasting/pre-paint, ability to perform heavy lifting (in line with safety requirements), standing (for long periods), bending and crouching, ability to work effectively unsupervised and in team environments, proven experience working with safe practices and in quality controlled environments, completion of or willingness to complete abrasive blasting competency, must hold or be eligible to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance (must hold Australian Citizenship).
