HelloFresh is a leading global meal kit company, operating in 16 countries with a large engineering organization of over 700 engineers. We're looking for an experienced Staff Engineer to join our Supply Chain Management Alliance team.

Job Overview

The ideal candidate will have expertise in microservices architecture and experience in logistics or supply chain management. As a Staff Engineer, you'll be responsible for developing a new supplier relationship portal to enhance communication and efficiency between purchasers and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Improve Integration: Enhance consistency and integration between services within your team's software and across different domains.
  • Strategic Influence: Shape your team's technical and business strategy through insightful contributions to priorities and approaches.
  • Solve Architectural Challenges: Lead efforts to identify and resolve architectural deficiencies that hinder innovation.
  • Design Leadership: Conduct and participate in design reviews, heavily influencing and writing critical-path code.
  • Collaborate: Engage in pair/mob programming, discovery workshops, technical spikes, katas, and code reviews.
  • Maintain Standards: Uphold high standards in engineering practices, focusing on quality, reliability, scalability, and customer focus.
  • Deliver Value: Use agile methodologies, DevOps, and continuous delivery practices to provide incremental and continuous business value.
  • Continuous Improvement: Apply best practices and methodologies to continuously enhance your craft.
  • Mentor and Grow: Mentor and develop other engineers through coaching and group exercises.

Requirements:

  • Engineering Excellence: Proven track record of helping your team build great products while ensuring high standards.
  • Quality Focus: Relentless drive to improve software quality, reliability, and reduce complexity.
  • Effective Communication: Clear and effective communication skills, including with non-technical stakeholders.
  • Agile Experience: Experience in end-to-end agile software development and delivery processes.
  • Microservices Expertise: Solid exposure to microservices and distributed system architectures, using Docker and Kubernetes for container orchestration.
  • Advanced Architectures: Prior experience in domain-driven design and event-driven architecture is a plus.
