Job Title: Natural Hazards Research Professional

We are seeking a driven individual to join our team as a Natural Hazards Research Professional. This exciting role will provide an opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the resilience and safety of communities nationwide.

About the Role

The successful candidate will work closely with our national team to address key challenges arising from natural hazards, including bushfires, floods, cyclones, heatwaves, storms, and other hazards.

  • Develop and implement research programs that promote resilience to the impacts of natural hazards and reduce disaster risk.
  • Collaborate with emergency service agencies and communities to identify needs and develop effective solutions.
  • Contribute to the development of policies and strategies that mitigate the impact of natural hazards.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as natural hazards science, emergency management, or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience in project management, stakeholder engagement, and partnership development.
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills, with the ability to identify issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to thrive in a remote working environment with staff and stakeholders dispersed nationally.
