Water Resources Consultant Role

 

We are seeking a skilled Hydrologist to join our team as a Water Resources Consultant.

This key position plays a critical role in shaping the future of integrated water management across Australia.

The consultant will provide technical guidance on projects related to integrated water and natural resource management, including business cases, environmental assessments, design development, and strategic planning services.

A strong technical foundation in hydrology, catchment modelling, water-sensitive urban design, and modelling software such as TUFLOW FV/Source, TUFLOW Catch, MUSIC, and MIKE is essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead complex water management projects, ensuring alignment with project objectives and client requirements.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, focusing on key stakeholders across NSW.
  • Manage project resources, budgets, and timelines, ensuring efficient and high-quality project delivery.
  • Drive business development activities, preparing proposals and presentations, and identifying new opportunities.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Requirements:

  • Hold tertiary qualifications in Environmental or Civil Engineering (or related field) with relevant experience in water resources/Integrated Water Management within a consulting environment.
  • Demonstrate a strong technical foundation in hydrology/catchment modelling, water-sensitive urban design, and modelling software.
  • Proven experience in project management, including planning, budgeting, and execution of water management projects.
  • Knowledge of integrated water management principles, practices, and limitations, including water, nutrient, and energy balance.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage with stakeholders and lead cross-functional teams.
