Electrical Engineering Professional

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team of electrical engineers and designers.

The Role
  • Work closely with Principal/Lead Engineers to drive project design and support the growing Electrical team.
  • Complete and review power system calculations and modelling using industry-leading software, with a strong understanding of first principles and standards.
  • Lead design projects from bidding concept to commissioning, collaborating with contractors and consultants.
  • Take ownership and provide leadership to ensure technical project success.
  • Undertake site audits/inspections and offer expert advice.
  • Develop and review technical project deliverables at a technical authority level.
  • Liaise with project stakeholders, clients, internal engineers, and project managers.
About the Ideal Candidate
  • 10 years of expertise in design engineering related to electrical substations, renewable energy, and transmission/distribution sectors.
  • Experience in solar PV and/or battery energy storage systems (BESS).
  • In-depth knowledge of the Australian energy environment, particularly NEM grid connection requirements, National Electricity Rules, and AEMO/NSP guidelines.
  • Strong understanding of earthing, protection, cable, and HV design.
  • Experience supporting procurement teams with technical knowledge of products, systems, and market sectors within the electrical industry.
  • Proficiency in applying Australian Standards such as AS/NZS 3000, AS2067, AS62271, and relevant design standards and statutory regulations.
  • Strong leadership abilities, passion for mentoring young engineers, and drive to ensure project success.
  • Experience in two or more sectors: Renewables, Power Utilities, Substations, Solar, and Hydrogen.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, adept at working with diverse stakeholders.
