We are seeking an experienced and passionate educator to lead our Learning Area team in the Department of Education WA.
About the RoleThis is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 1, 2025. As the Head of Learning Area, you will be responsible for providing educational leadership and direction to the Learning Area team, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning outcomes for students.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement curriculum plans and programs that meet the needs of students and the school community.
- Provide professional guidance and support to teachers, ensuring they stay informed on relevant curriculum issues.
- Facilitate teaching and learning outcomes, employing effective performance management strategies and promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
- Implement change management strategies to lead the school community in accepting and developing opportunities for improved service within the Learning Area.
- Collaborate with the school leadership team to develop and implement the school plan, involving participative decision-making, policy development, and the establishment of necessary systems.
- High level of interpersonal and public relations skills that demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Demonstrated professional knowledge and the ability to apply this knowledge to ensure a high level of educational outcomes for all students.
- Demonstrated capacity to manage staff, physical and financial resources.
