Teacher - English as an Additional Language/Dialect Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Teacher - English as an Additional Language/Dialect (EALD) to join our team at Melville Senior High School. As an EALD teacher, you will play a vital role in supporting students from diverse language backgrounds to develop their English language skills and achieve academic success.
About the RoleThe successful applicant will possess an excellent knowledge of the Western Australian Curriculum and the WA EALD Progress Map. You will be responsible for teaching students of varying ability and English language proficiency across Years 7 to 10 in a highly engaging manner. Ideally, you will be a dedicated and highly motivated educator with the ability to develop quality teaching and learning programs across all learning areas to develop the students' language and literacy needs.
Key Responsibilities- Teach English as an Additional Language/Dialect to students of varying ability and English language proficiency
- Develop and implement quality teaching and learning programs to support students' language and literacy needs
- Assess and report on student progress and achievement
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement school-wide initiatives to support students from diverse language backgrounds
- Hold an eligible teaching qualification
- Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment
- Apply for a WA Working with Children Check before starting
- Consent to and obtain a National Criminal History Check with the Department's Screening Unit
