Are you a safety-conscious individual passionate about ensuring the well-being of our community, particularly children? We're seeking a Permanent Part Time School Crossing Supervisor to join our team at Manningham City Council.
About the RoleSchool Crossing Supervisors play a vital role in maintaining the safety of our community. During school terms, you'll be responsible for assisting school children and other pedestrians at established children's crossings and traffic lights. Your primary focus will be on ensuring the safe passage of pedestrians while promoting road safety awareness.
We're looking for an experienced and reliable individual who can effectively lift, utilise, and operate safety equipment within defined standards. You'll need good judgement and road sense, as well as strong knowledge of the Australian road rules. Competent understanding and ability to follow Safe Work Procedures are also essential to ensure community safety.
Key Responsibilities- Assist school children and other pedestrians at established children's crossings and traffic lights during school terms.
- Maintain a high level of visibility for both motorists and pedestrians while operating safety equipment.
- Monitor and manage pedestrian flow to prevent congestion and potential hazards.
- Adhere to Safe Work Procedures to ensure community safety and prevent accidents.
- Experience in the same role or experience in traffic safety or working with children is highly regarded.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate clearly with colleagues and stakeholders.
- Punctuality and reliability are essential, as you'll need to get to and from your rostered crossing on time.
- Availability to work shifts, including mornings, afternoons, or both, is required.
We offer a competitive salary banding 1A, $30.61 per hour, plus 11.5% Superannuation.
