Job Title: Advanced Healthcare Provider

About Our Hospital and Health Service:

  • We provide healthcare services to a fluctuating population of approximately 1200 male prisoners.
  • We offer clinical services within the correctional centre, structured day, and security function.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. You will prescribe medications, order, initiate, and interpret diagnostic pathology and/or radiology.
  2. You will lead and collaborate in the development and evaluation of clinical protocols, standards, policies, and procedures.
  3. You will work collaboratively with others to contribute to resource and health quality development.
  4. You will contribute expert nursing assessment and advice to achieve integrated nursing care within a risk management and best practice framework.
  5. You will participate in the implementation and evaluation of systems and processes to foster the development of a positive culture and values, and optimum standards of practice and performance.

Requirements:

  • You must be currently registered through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • A Nurse Practitioner Master's level qualification and NMBA endorsement to practice as a Nurse Practitioner is mandatory.
  • Demonstrated practice scope in, or completion of, or willingness to complete Opioid Dependence Treatment and Hep C prescriber course/s will be highly regarded.
