Data Quality Expert for Implantable Hearing Solutions

As a Senior Data Quality Manager at Cochlear, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of data across the organization. Your responsibilities will include developing and implementing data quality strategies, policies, and procedures. You will collaborate with a global Data Quality Support team to document, troubleshoot, and resolve data issues.
Main Accountabilities:
- Data Quality Champion: Promote data-driven decision-making processes by upholding Cochlear's data quality strategy.
- Data Governance: Maintain our data governance frameworks, policies, and procedures, ensuring compliance with data regulations such as GDPR and HIPAA.
- Data Quality Assessment and Improvement: Monitor data quality metrics, conduct regular audits, and identify improvement areas. Work with cross-functional teams to address issues and implement effective solutions.
- Data Quality Initiatives Lead: Proactively use data management tools to detect, report, and resolve data quality issues.
- Data Quality Awareness Promotion: Drive training programs to educate teams on data quality best practices and methodologies.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with data stewards, IT, and other stakeholders to define data requirements and resolve challenges.
- Team Leadership: Lead, support, and continually upskill a team of Data Quality + Reporting Analysts.
- Vendor Engagement: Oversee relationships with data-related vendors for enhanced data management solutions.
- Industry Trends and Best Practices: Stay informed and integrate best practices to continuously improve data quality processes.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience (5+ years) in data quality management and governance.
- Experience leading and managing teams (5+ years).
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Knowledge of data management platforms (e.g., MDM, ETL, data quality tools).
- Familiarity with data regulations such as GDPR and HIPAA.
- Experience with Informatica is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Management, Business Management, Project Management, or related fields.
We estimate the salary for this position to be around $120,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications. This figure is based on industry standards and market rates for similar positions in Australia.
