Lead a Team of Planners

The role involves leading a dedicated team of planners in shaping prosperous, vibrant, and liveable new communities.

  • Provide expert oversight and guidance across development approval processes.
  • Oversee planning operations, ensuring compliance with policy, legislation, and service standards.
  • Manage complex and major planning applications, including project coordination and decision-making.
  • Represent the council in tribunals, hearings, and stakeholder negotiations.

Key skills include senior-level expertise in major project planning, demonstrated leadership experience, and robust expertise in stakeholder and community engagement.

Requirements
  • A degree or diploma in Town Planning, Urban Studies or Urban Geography with several years of relevant experience.
  • Proven track record of achieving positive, collaborative planning outcomes through effective consultation and negotiation.
  • Ability to motivate and coach a team of staff and consultants to meet priorities and targets.
