About the Role
We are seeking experienced Civil Legal Services professionals to join our team in Darwin and Katherine, NT. As a key member of our legal services team, you will provide culturally safe, trauma-informed legal assistance to clients in family law, child protection, and domestic and family violence matters.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Represent clients in family law, child protection, and DFV matters with a focus on providing culturally safe and trauma-informed legal support.
- Deliver expert legal advice and representation to clients in remote communities as part of outreach and bush courts.
- Work collaboratively with bi-cultural teams to deliver high-quality legal services.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- An admitted legal practitioner in Australia, eligible for NT practicing certificate.
- A minimum of 1 year post-admission legal experience.
- A valid C Class Driver's Licence and ability to travel by 4WD or light aircraft.
- A Working with Children Clearance and clear criminal history.
- Highly desirable: experience in family law, DFV, child protection, or working with Aboriginal communities.
About Our Team
We are an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation and an independent Family Violence Prevention Legal Service. Our mission is to provide culturally safe legal and non-legal wraparound support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander victim survivors of domestic, family, and sexual violence (DFSV) in more than 45 remote communities across the Top End.
What We Offer
- A competitive salary package including superannuation and up to $15,899 tax-free salary packaging.
- 6 weeks' annual leave + 17.5% loading + monthly RDOs.
- $130/day travel allowance when overnight, plus TOIL.
- Paid parental leave, counselling, supervision, and cultural support.
- $1,000 annual PD budget, 4WD, First Aid, cultural training.
- Relocation assistance for those moving to Darwin or Katherine.
