About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Workshop Fitter to join our team at Hitachi Construction Machinery. As a key member of our Mining Assembly division, you will play a critical role in the assembly, maintenance, and repair of a wide range of mining and construction equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assemble, maintain, and repair mining and construction equipment to customer specifications.
  • Conduct basic failure analysis and identify specific modes of failure.
  • Prepare and test pre-delivery inspections of new equipment.
  • Ensure all work is performed in a safe manner and in line with company 5S standards.
  • Complete and submit all relevant paperwork and reports.
  • Liaise closely with mining assembly supervisor and leading hand to ensure customer satisfaction and delivery targets are achieved.
  • Assist the mining assembly leading hand with other related duties.
Requirements
  • Hold relevant Australian (or Australian recognised) mobile plant trade qualifications.
  • Have previous experience with the assembly, overhaul, repair, and servicing of mechanical and hydraulic components on construction and/or mining equipment.
  • Have a strong work ethic and excellent communication skills with the ability to build positive, long-term relationships.
  • Good communication skills and a dedication to providing quality work for an OEM.
  • Must have Forklift/ dogging/ Rigging and Working at Heights.
