About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Analyst to join our team at Virgin Australia. As a Data Analyst, you will play a key role in supporting our business objectives by providing data-driven insights and recommendations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct data impact assessments to identify opportunities for improvement and quantify benefits for our data platforms and business.
  • Work closely with delivery teams to champion good data governance and ensure data quality.
  • Support Solution Architects, Business Analysts, and other stakeholders in understanding required data activities.
  • Prepare source-to-target mapping and identify data sensitivity for data activities.
  • Perform data discovery and impact assessments for new initiatives involving data.
  • Be a trusted contact for small initiatives and projects related to VA Data and Data Governance/Quality.
  • Communicate effectively with business and technology stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field.
  • Experience in analyzing and documenting data requirements and processes.
  • Knowledge of data acquisition and data warehousing.
  • Experience working in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to operate independently on projects.
  • Experience with technologies such as SQL, dbt, Python, Databricks, Power BI, and data modeling approaches like Kimball.
  • Ability to define data-related artefacts and their benefits.
  • Experience with data mapping documents and process documents.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in data quality and data governance practices.
