About the Role

As an Operations Coordinator Water, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient and compliant delivery of water, sewage, and recycled water systems within the Gympie Regional Council. This dynamic position involves leading a team of professionals to drive improvements in operational efficiency and outcomes.

You will be responsible for coordinating operational processes, including routine and regulatory testing, and ensuring that all procedures align with best-practice management. Your technical expertise and leadership skills will be instrumental in fostering a culture focused on safety, continuous improvement, and innovation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership: Lead and manage the operations team in planning, resource allocation, and the execution of tasks to ensure water, sewage, and recycled water systems are efficient and compliant.
  • Operational Processes: Coordinate operational processes, including routine and regulatory testing, and ensure that all procedures align with best-practice management.
  • Technical Advice: Provide technical advice to internal and external stakeholders, including project managers, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives, encouraging creativity, problem-solving, and risk reduction within the team.
Requirements
  • Leadership: Proven ability to effectively lead a team of people, promote a positive, dynamic organisational culture which is committed to Council's vision and values.
  • Strategy: Implementation of workforce strategies to achieve the Water vision, goals and key priorities, in particular development of standard operating and monitoring procedures across the various schemes, whilst building a capable and cross-functional team which focusses on delivery of committed customer service levels and outcomes.
  • Innovation: Foster a climate for continuous improvement for policies and processes and identify new fit-for-purpose emerging technologies or practices that can reduce the whole of asset life cycle cost.
  • Performance: Deliver a competitive and reliable level of service to our customers, regulators and the community.
