The Jane Austen Literacy Foundation seeks a literacy expert to join its management board.

This role suits an individual who is passionate about literacy and learning, has experience in the education sector, and wants to help make a difference.

It's a great opportunity for the right individual to advance their interest in literacy and governance in a supportive environment.

Job Responsibilities

Reviewing and providing advice to the Chair on developing and implementing the strategic plans.
Reviewing outcomes and targets, evaluating impact and effectiveness.
Approving annual budgets, audit reports, and material business decisions.
Being informed of and meeting all legal and fiduciary responsibilities.
Assisting the Chair in identifying and recruiting other Board Members.
Ensuring board resolutions are carried out.
Serving on committees taskforces and taking on special assignments appropriate to your skill and areas of interest.
Representing the organization as an ambassador.
Ensuring a commitment to diversity on the Board and the organization.
Required Skills and Qualifications

Extensive professional experience and credibility within the literacy and education sector.
A commitment to the organization's mission to connect through literacy and support literacy in developing communities.
Not-for-profit board experience desirable, but not essential.
Good communication skills and a natural affinity for cultivating positive relationships.
Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and a passion for improving the lives of beneficiaries.
