As a welding inspector, you play a critical role in ensuring the highest quality of welds on our site. This is an exciting opportunity to join our team and make a real difference in the world of transportation.

Our site is a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility that produces high-quality trains and other rail products. As a welding inspector, you will be responsible for conducting visual weld inspections, supervising welding processes, and ensuring compliance with relevant quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct visual weld inspections to ensure adherence to quality standards
  • Supervise welding processes to ensure they meet quality and safety requirements
  • Assure site compliance with relevant welding quality standards
  • Review welding quality documents (WPQR/WPS/NDT reports)
  • Support the weld school during welders' training and qualification
  • Support welders on the job to ensure good practices are followed

Requirements:

  • Certification as an international welding supervisor or inspector (IWS/IWI) is desired
  • Formal EN9712 qualification to perform MT/PT NDT is required
  • Formal EN9712 qualification to perform UT NDT will be a strong advantage
  • Knowledge and understanding of the foundations of welding processes
  • Ability to read complex technical drawings
  • Sound knowledge of AS/NZS and ISO welding symbols
  • Sound understanding and knowledge of ISO 5817 and relevant parts of AS 1554
  • Familiarity with EN ISO 15085, EN ISO 3834 and EN ISO 9606
