HSQE Manager

Ahrens is seeking an experienced HSQE Coordinator to join the Design and Construction team in NSW. This career opportunity provides a chance to take the next step and become involved with a national company.
The role will coordinate management of HSQE activities across Ahrens businesses and provide support in other tasks as required. Continuous advice and support will be provided to managers, supervisors, and employees to ensure operations are conducted in accordance with requirements of the Ahrens HSQE Management System, and that HSQE is integrated into the organisational culture.
Key Responsibilities- Work with the Group HSQE team to maintain and control the company HSQE Management Systems.
- Ensure processes and procedures across the Group are relevant and complete, underpin efficient operation, and are standardised where appropriate.
- Enter health, safety, and environment information and records onto company electronic databases and systems.
- Maintain accurate records, training certificates, inspection reports, and other documents readily available on request.
- Identify training needs, maintain a national training matrix, and organise WHS training and verification of employee competency as required.
- Assist in project pre-planning to ensure project procedures and specifications reflect WHS and environmental factors.
- Prepare project management plans and related HSE documentation.
- Maintain safety and general noticeboards with up-to-date information.
- Work with supervisors and managers to improve Safe Operating Procedures and plant and equipment management.
- Support operational teams with HSQE activities and initiatives on permanent and temporary sites.
- Coordinate internal HSQE operational audits, inspections, and reporting.
- Support project teams in coordinating Incident Management.
- Deliver Skytrust training to supervisors, managers, and employees where required.
- Develop and implement new HSQE programs and training initiatives.
Competitive salary: AUD 80,000 - 110,000 per annum, depending on experience.
Requirements- Formal qualifications in WHS practices (or currently working towards);
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role within the construction industry;
- Construction Industry White Card;
- Effective written and oral communication skills;
- Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel;
- Flexibility to travel and visit project sites and Ahrens Divisions across Australia if required;
- Applied First Aid competency;
- Current driver's license;
- General Knowledge of Systems, Procedures, and Document Control principles;
- General Knowledge of business and management principles involved in coordination of people and resources.
