This position is a key contributor to our team at Brunel International, working closely with clients in the mining and resources sector to provide expert environmental management services.

Key Responsibilities

  1. We are seeking an experienced Environmental Coordinator to join our team in Brisbane. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and monitoring progressive rehabilitation efforts, implementing erosion and sediment control measures, and providing land disturbance advice and managing permitting.
  2. As an Environmental Coordinator, you will conduct assessments for closure planning and approvals, develop and execute environmental management plans, oversee contractors on environmental projects, and support environmental reporting and compliance.
  3. You will engage with the workforce to promote environmental awareness, mentor and develop junior environmental team members, and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

  1. Tertiary qualifications in environmental science, environmental engineering, or a related field are required, as well as 4+ years of experience in environmental management within the mining or resources sector.
  2. Supervisor qualifications - S1,2,3 & G2 (or ability to obtain) are necessary, along with experience using GIS mapping software such as ArcGIS Pro.
  3. A proactive approach to continuous improvement in environmental performance, strong ability to manage contractors, and knowledge of environmental legislation and best practices are also essential.
