Director of Strategy and Governance

The Western NSW region is seeking a skilled Director to contribute to the health and wellbeing of rural and remote communities. As a key member of the Board, you will play a vital role in shaping strategy and strengthening access to high-quality, person-centred primary health care for the people of Western New South Wales.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development of strategic plans and initiatives that promote the health and wellbeing of rural and remote communities.">
  • Provide expert guidance on governance and leadership best practices to ensure the effective functioning of the Board.">
  • Work collaboratively with other Directors to achieve shared goals and objectives.">

Requirements:

">

We are looking for candidates with a strong background in governance, leadership, and strategy development. You should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be able to work effectively in a team environment, and have a deep understanding of the challenges facing rural and remote communities.

It is essential that you have relevant experience in one or more of the following areas:

">

• General Practice – specialist General Practitioner currently practising within the WNSW PHN region.

">

• Other health professions – clinicians, particularly with expertise in mental health, currently practising within the region.

">

• Public health, health funding and policy.

">

• Professional expertise – qualifications relevant to legal, financial, human resources or governance matters.

">

As a Director, you will be responsible for submitting various documents, including a cover letter, current resume, and completed nomination forms. We also require you to declare any private interests and complete a skills and attributes matrix self-assessment form.
