About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Expert to join our team at our Altona North plastic manufacturing site.

Your primary responsibility will be to maintain the fleet of tools / moulds and prepare new tooling through effective management of maintenance programs, engagement with suppliers, and repair services.

You will lead a small team and contractors in identifying hazards, participating in WHSE campaigns, and driving a culture of behavioural safety.

The ideal candidate will have experience in mechanical maintenance, preferably in an FMCG tool shop or similar environment.

They should possess welding skills, knowledge of quality control, and trouble shooting when it comes to tooling.

A demonstrated hand skill in repairing tools and possession of a mechanical trade qualification are essential requirements for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the fleet of tools / moulds and ensure timely preparation and manufacture of new tooling
  • Manage maintenance programs, engage with suppliers, and perform repairs as required
  • Lead a small team and contractors in identifying hazards and participating in WHSE campaigns
  • Coordinate tool contractor support, services, and maintenance activities
  • Lead discussions on tool engineering design improvements and process improvement
