As a Community Corrections Officer, you play a pivotal role in supporting offenders to rehabilitate and reintegrate into the community. Your key responsibilities include managing cases for individuals on community orders, working with offenders in custody to prepare for reintegration, and engaging with stakeholders and communities, including Aboriginal and CALD groups.
About the Role:
Our organization is committed to community safety and offender rehabilitation. As a Community Corrections Officer, you will have the opportunity to work with diverse communities and engage with stakeholders to promote successful outcomes. You will be responsible for conducting home visits, developing strategies for rehabilitation, and providing support to help offenders achieve their goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage cases for individuals on community orders
- Work with offenders in custody to prepare for reintegration
- Engage with stakeholders and communities, including Aboriginal and CALD groups
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Understanding of the NSW criminal justice system
- Strong case management skills
- Commitment to community safety
- Ability to work effectively with diverse communities
Training and Development:
You will receive comprehensive training and development opportunities, including a mandatory four-week paid training at Corrective Services Brush Farm Academy as part of the Certificate IV in Correctional Practice. Opportunities for career progression exist within the NSW justice sector, including roles such as Senior Community Corrections Officer, Team Leader, or Specialist positions.
