Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Dentist to provide exceptional patient care and contribute to the success of our dental team. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing emergency dental treatment
  • Completing dental examinations, reviews and referrals
  • Providing preventative treatment such as scaling, cleaning and fluoride therapy
  • Restoring teeth damaged by caries or trauma, rebuilding tooth structures and providing crowns and bridges
  • Treating diseases of the roots, gums and soft tissues of the mouth and carry out various minor oral surgical procedures
  • Managing/treatment planning/referrals for malformation and misalignment of teeth and jaws (functional reasons only, not cosmetic) in accordance with Defence Policies and Procedures
  • Designing dentures and oral appliances
  • Extracting teeth, including simple surgical extractions
  • Performing root canal treatment of incisors to pre molars and molars with uncomplicated canal morphology
  • Diagnosing and managing TMJ related disorders

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Current unconditional and unrestricted registration as a Dentist, General with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Minimum of 3 years full-time (or part-time equivalent) post graduate clinical chair-side experience with at least 2 years full-time equivalent within the last 5 years
  • Recent participation in Continuing Professional Development (CPD) activities in accordance with AHPRA
  • Current First Aid (HLTAID003) and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (HLTAID001) certification

Please note that you must be an Australian Citizen to obtain the required Baseline Security Clearance for this role.
