At the forefront of food and agribusiness banking, we seek a Project Finance Director to spearhead transactions in renewable energy and infrastructure. This is an exceptional opportunity to join a newly formed team at a pivotal moment, working directly with the Head of Project Finance to build and grow a high-impact business line.

This hands-on role demands deep expertise in project finance, commercial acumen, and the ability to lead deals from end to end. As a key member of our Wholesale Banking division, you will play a central role in originating and executing transactions, leading the credit submission process, and building relationships across the market.

  • Originate, structure, and execute project finance transactions, focusing on renewables and infrastructure.
  • Take ownership of the credit submission process, including financial modelling, risk analysis, credit paper preparation, and internal approvals.
  • Lead client pitches and cross-border deal teams, collaborating with colleagues across global locations and product areas.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, advisors, and industry stakeholders.
  • Monitor transactions post-close, ensuring compliance and providing ongoing client support.
  • Contribute to strategic growth initiatives and market development in the Australian energy and infrastructure sectors.
  • Mentor and develop junior Wholesale team members, fostering a high-performance and collaborative culture.

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • A minimum of 10 years of project finance experience, with significant exposure to the Australian renewables sector. Experience in digital infrastructure is considered a plus.
  • A well-established local network across key players in the Australian project finance market, including lenders, advisors, developers, and industry stakeholders.
  • Solid industry knowledge across renewables and infrastructure sectors.
  • Proven ability to lead complex transactions and generate compelling pitch materials.
  • Excellent financial modelling, credit analysis, and credit writing skills.
  • Strong communication, inclusive leadership, and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
  • Proactive, client-focused, and results-driven, with high integrity and risk awareness.
  • Experience managing cross-border transactions and working with multidisciplinary teams.
