Electrical Automation Lead

This role is responsible for developing and implementing safe, compliant, and efficient electrical and automation systems across material recovery facilities.

The Electrical Automation Lead will support technical reliability, fault diagnostics, and capital project delivery by working closely with site operations, engineering, and strategic teams.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver a clear strategy for electrical engineering and automation standards in processing plants.
  • Underpin electrical safety standards and assist in delivering operational reliability and efficiency.
  • Identify and deliver capital investments relating to electrical and automation projects.
  • Support and guide the development team on electrical standards.
  • Manage and standardize Australian Electrical safety standards such as AS/NZS 3000:2018 & AS 2467-2008.
  • Establish mandatory regulatory inspections and best practice preventative maintenance techniques.
  • Coordinate the electrical and automation aspects of capex plans and delivery.
  • Lead electrical fault-finding processes and conduct root cause analysis.
  • Optimize electrical and automation expenditure by advising on local R & M expenditure.

Requirements:

  • Degree or similar tertiary equivalent in Electrical and electronic engineering.
  • Experience in electrical/automation and management roles (10 years) in manufacturing industries, ideally recycling operations.
  • Operational experience in continuous process industries where maximizing plant availability is key.
  • Ability to work with diverse teams across multiple sites.
  • Track record of delivering capability/process improvement and setting electrical maintenance standards for an organization.
