**Cloud Software Architect Role**

This position involves responsibility for delivering a Storage Virtualization platform to Azure Virtual Machines. The software stack handles trillions of input/output operations every day from Azure Virtual Machines and runs in hundreds of data centers and over one thousand clusters.

The team is accountable for the entire software stack on the Azure host that is responsible for handling virtual machine input/output operations, caching mechanisms, throttling controls, Quality of Service for Azure Virtual Machines, multiple transport layers, and encryption of data both in transit and at rest.

**Key Responsibilities as Cloud Software Architect**

  • Determine user requirements through collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Develop design documents by identifying dependencies.
  • Create, implement, optimize, debug, refactor, and reuse code to establish performance and maintainability.
  • Leverage expertise in product features and partner with stakeholders to drive project plans.
  • Guide engineers by developing and following a playbook.

**Requirements and Qualifications**

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience.
  • 4+ years experience in design, development, debugging, testing, and problem-solving.
  • 4+ years experience in system software, storage protocols, networking concepts, and operating system internals.
  • 4+ years of handling periodic live service on-call responsibilities.
