We're seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join our Finance team at Metro Trains Melbourne.

About the Role:

As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, including payment of wages, allowances, leave, and separations. Your attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information will be crucial in this role.

You'll liaise with third-party providers and internal stakeholders to collate and review data for accuracy and appropriateness, prepare and input daily information from employees' timesheets & rosters, and respond to all payroll-related queries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with third-party providers and internal stakeholders to ensure data accuracy and compliance
  • Prepare and accurately input daily payroll information from employees' timesheets & rosters
  • Respond to all payroll-related queries from employees, managers, and business divisions
  • Maintain pay-related transactions and employment history in accordance with agreements, policies, and legislation

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in high-volume environments
  • Demonstrated service-oriented approach
  • Ability to handle confidential information
  • Demonstrated knowledge of industrial awards, industrial relations, and WorkCover
  • Experience interpreting industry agreements, Awards, and translating into timekeeping practices
  • Knowledge of policies, procedures, and practices related to employment conditions and employee leave administration

About You:

You'll be a highly effective communicator with strong written and verbal skills, able to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines. If you're passionate about delivering excellent customer service and have experience in payroll processing, we encourage you to apply.

Earnings: $85,000 - $110,000 per annum, plus superannuation and benefits.
