Job Summary

This part-time fixed-term position will see you working as a School Officer – Instrumental Music Tutor (Guitar) across three Townsville schools. You will provide individual and small group instrumental music tuition to students under the general supervision of the Instrumental Coordinator.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement programs of study for individual students or groups, prioritizing syllabus requirements, student goals, and skill levels.
  • Monitor student progress, prepare them for external exams, and report to parents regularly.
  • Maintain accurate attendance records, liaise with parents on absences, and develop student timetables and schedules.
  • Collaborate with other staff and the Instrumental Coordinator to promote the music program within the school and externally.

Requirements

  • Diploma or degree qualification with relevant experience or other acceptable qualifications and experience.
  • Current Working with Children Suitability Card and paid Blue Card before commencement.
  • Current Driver's Licence and ability to travel occasionally within the Catholic Diocese of Townsville.
  • Ability to perform the physical requirements of the role safely.
