Job Title: Physical Education Teacher

We are seeking a qualified and enthusiastic teacher to lead our physical education program. The ideal candidate will have a passion for promoting healthy lifestyles, physical activity, and positive personal development in young people.

The role of the physical education teacher is multifaceted. You will be responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to the diverse learning needs of students in Years K-8. This includes coordinating sports programs, conducting risk assessments, and implementing safety measures to ensure a safe and supportive learning environment.

You will also work effectively as part of a team within the physical education department and the wider school, fostering strong relationships with colleagues, students, and parents. A high level of professionalism, including punctuality, organisation, and a proactive approach to professional development, is essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement physical education programs that promote student engagement, participation, and achievement
• Coordinate sports programs for Stage 2 and 3 students
• Conduct risk assessments and implement safety measures to ensure a safe and supportive learning environment
• Work effectively as part of a team within the physical education department and the wider school
• Foster strong relationships with colleagues, students, and parents

Required Qualifications and Skills:
• Tertiary qualification in Education
• Eligibility according to the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA)
• Proven ability to plan, implement, and evaluate engaging and differentiated physical education lessons
• Excellent classroom management strategies to create a positive and supportive learning environment
• Strong interpersonal skills, including empathy, patience, and the ability to build positive relationships with young adolescents
• Ability to conduct risk assessments and implement safety measures
• Knowledge of the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development of students in the junior and middle school years
