Key Responsibilities
- Route Navigation: Navigate long-distance routes, ensuring efficient and safe operation of triple road trains through varying terrains and weather conditions.
- Freight Transportation: Ensure all freight is transported safely and on time, monitoring cargo loads, performing pre-trip inspections, and managing schedules to meet delivery deadlines.
- Regulatory Compliance: Stay informed on relevant laws, including weight limits, route restrictions, and compliance with local regulations to uphold operational integrity.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Regularly inspect and clean the cab and cargo area, ensuring that proper safety equipment is available and in good condition.
- Reporting and Documentation: Accurately complete and maintain all required paperwork, such as delivery receipts, logbooks, and compliance reports, to ensure accountability and traceability.
- Communication and Training: Leverage GPS and other communication tools to stay updated on traffic conditions, route changes, and emergencies, and participate in training sessions and workshops.
Requirements
- MC Driver's Licence: Must have a valid multi-combination Drivers Licence allowing operation of heavy vehicles with multiple trailers.
- Refrigeration and General Freight Experience: Familiarity with transporting temperature-sensitive goods and general freight, ensuring compliance with all handling procedures.
- Accident-Free Record: A history of accident-free driving showcasing responsibility and dedication to safety protocols on the road.
- Knowledge of Regulations: Understand applicable laws and regulations, including load limitations and route planning for optimal efficiency.
- Fatigue Management: Knowledge of fatigue management regulations to ensure driver well-being, including proper rest periods and monitoring driving hours.
