We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Officer to join our team at Southern Cross Care NSW & ACT. As a Maintenance Officer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities and providing a safe and comfortable environment for our residents.

• Perform routine maintenance tasks, including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and building repairs
• Conduct gardening maintenance tasks, such as lawn mowing, hedging, and general garden upkeep
• Communicate effectively with residents, staff, and families, demonstrating empathy and understanding of the needs of aged residents
• Operate a vehicle safely and efficiently, with a valid NSW Driver License
• Work independently with minimal supervision, prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with residents, staff, and families, promoting a positive and respectful environment
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge

• Experience in maintenance or a related field, preferably in aged care or a similar industry
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups
• Basic computer skills and proficiency in using software applications
• Understanding of workplace safety protocols and procedures
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively
