Aboriginal Child Protection Specialist

Job Description:

The role involves working sensitively and respectfully with parents, family members, children or young people. This position requires collaboration with other agencies and engagement in complex problem-solving to assist families in formulating goals that align with their needs, addressing safety and well-being concerns.

  • Work with high-needs and high-risk clients and their families.
  • Manage cases and situations.
  • Be involved in court processes.
  • Participate in individual and group supervision.

The ideal candidate will be confident, curious and resilient, with excellent verbal and written communication skills. A relevant diploma or degree qualification is preferred, but applicants without a relevant qualification may be considered if they have at least two years' experience working with vulnerable children, young people and their families.

Key Responsibilities:
  • A valid driver's licence.
  • A paid working with children clearance number.
  • Documented verification of Aboriginality.

This is an Identified role, open only to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander persons.
