About Us:

Knotts Crossing Resort is a premier destination in the Katherine region of Australia's Northern Territory, offering a range of luxurious amenities and services. Our resort features 126 rooms, a fully licensed restaurant and bar, a licensed main pool area, a village pool, BBQ facilities, a kiosk, HERTZ car rentals, conference facilities, and a tour desk. Our goal is to provide an exceptional outback hospitality experience to our guests during their stay.

The Savannah Bar & Restaurant:

This modern bar and restaurant is the newest addition to Knotts Crossing Resort, offering an innovative menu with daily specials, professional mixed cocktails, fine wines, and cold beer. We provide small or large functions and wedding services, ensuring that every event is a memorable experience.

About the Role:

We are seeking a motivated and innovative chef to deliver exceptional and unique food experiences to our guests. The ideal candidate will have 2 years of experience in a kitchen, be able to cook food based on customer orders and requirements, and deliver exceptional quality dishes. The candidate must be able to work weekends, public holidays, and evenings.

Requirements and Experience:
  • 2 years of experience working as a culinary expert in a kitchen (hotel or resort)
  • Completion of a Chef Apprenticeship or a Certificate III in Culinary Cooking
  • A genuine love of food and a passion for a variety of cuisines
  • Ability to work in a team and busy environment
  • Able to work autonomously and demonstrates sound knowledge of cooking
  • A strong focus on teamwork
  • Able to assist in provision of on-the-job training
  • Knowledge and continued learning of HACCP guidelines
  • Continual development and research of leading food trends
  • Passion for quality
Main Duties:
  • Set up the kitchen with cooking utensils and equipment as required by employers
  • Familiar with different recipes and gather all necessary ingredients
  • Prepare and cook food based on customer orders and requirements
  • Ensure appealing plate presentation and monitor food quality
  • Assist other staff as needed
  • Monitor food stock and report to managers if any ingredient is missing or needed
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the kitchen area
  • Store food in temperature-controlled facilities
  • Follow resort/restaurant policies and procedures
  • Meet and maintain the health and safety and anti-discrimination required by food industry and government regulations
  • Adhere to food, sanitary, and safety standards and maintaining relevant workplace health and safety procedures
  • Maintain current Food Safety and Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) qualification
