Finance Business Partner Job Description

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Performance Analysis: Prepare monthly Branch reporting, tracking financial performance against budget/forecast, with variance & trend analysis.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop Annual Budget and quarterly rolling forecasts.
  • Month-End Reporting: Manage month-end reporting and ensure all information is entered into our General Ledger.
  • Audit Compliance: Support year-end process and audit requirements.
  • Project Management: Reconcile Project WIP & Production WIP to General ledger.
  • Business Partnership: Partner with business units to drive business outcomes.
  • Statutory Accounts: Assist in preparing annual statutory accounts, liaising with auditors, and gathering information.
  • Financial Data Integrity: Ensure accurate financial data is entered into our accounting system in a timely manner.
  • Taxation Compliance: Lodge BAS return monthly and FBT return annually.
  • Process Improvement: Improve controls and efficiency systems, and document policies and procedures within the Finance Department.
  • Accounting Policies: Review or develop accounting policies and processes to ensure compliance with Australian Accounting Standards and applicable tax laws.
  • Grant Submissions: Prepare submissions and reporting papers for Government Grants.
  • Data Analysis: Develop and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards.
  • Communication: Handle employee, management, and external party enquiries, resolving them professionally, helpfully, and on time.
  • Team Support: Provide back-up support to team members when required.
  • Performance Targets: Achieve financial and non-financial targets stated in the business plan.
  • Process Optimization: Implement optimised finance processes and systems for efficiency.
  • Compliance: Ensure 100% compliance with all relevant legislation and company policies.
  • Quality Management: Contribute to Quality Management System development and maintenance.
  • Integration: Manage business takeover and integration, training as needed.
