About this role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Driver Trainer to join our team. As a Driver Trainer, you will be responsible for providing coaching and mentoring to Trainee Drivers and Locomotive Drivers within competency-based frameworks.

  • Motivate, instruct, mentor, coach and assess drivers to ensure they meet business objectives.
  • Develop a supportive relationship with train drivers and support the training program objectives.
  • Instruct and coach personnel in train management competencies, procedures and route competencies to high standards.
  • Deliver and maintain training and assessment plans, required reports, learning documents, logbooks and check sheets.
  • Perform fair assessments of personnel to high safety standards while utilizing a range of upskilling methods to ensure competencies are maintained.
  • Plan and organize competency and learning programs.
  • Perform administrative duties including maintenance of required files and training records.
About your skills and qualifications
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is mandatory.
  • Certificate IV in Rail Operations is mandatory.
  • You must have the ability to apply best practice train management techniques to ensure efficient and safe train operations.
  • A high level of facilitation, mentoring, coaching and relationship building skills is required to create lasting attitudinal and behavioural change.
