Leadership Role in Technical Accounting

We are seeking an experienced Technical Accountant/Senior Manager to lead our team in delivering high-quality outcomes in a dynamic environment.

The role requires strong technical expertise, stakeholder management, and the ability to advise on complex transactions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead technical accounting engagements for Federal Government departments and agencies.
  • Advise on the application and interpretation of Australian Accounting Standards (AASB) including AASB 16, AASB 9, AASB 15, AASB 1058, and others.
  • Provide expert guidance on financial reporting, consolidation, and complex transactions.
  • Support clients with audit readiness, accounting policy development, and implementation of new standards.
  • Ensure compliance with Australian Government Finance Statistics (GFS) frameworks.
  • Mentor and develop junior staff, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
  • Build strong relationships with CFOs, Finance Executives, and Audit Committees across Federal Government clients.
  • Contribute to thought leadership on technical accounting matters in the Federal sector.

Requirements:

  • CA/CPA qualified (or equivalent) with 8–12+ years of post-qualification experience.
  • Strong knowledge of AASB standards and their application in the public sector.
  • Proven experience working with Federal Government entities, either in professional services or government finance teams.
  • Deep understanding of public sector financial frameworks, budgeting, and reporting requirements.
  • Experience leading teams, managing client relationships, and delivering large-scale advisory engagements.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical issues to finance and non-finance stakeholders.
